Time and consciousness – Bergson’s intuition

[E] A great number of my cells gets renewed from one moment to the next. My neurons modify their connections. The very matter of my body is made of particles transforming never endingly in  a constant exchange of energy.

My individuality has  shaped on this moving foam. And this construction is strong enough so that, despite my growing up and other events of my life, it remains identical to what it was a year, a few days or twenty years ago. Even if looking at myself in a mirror or scanning the way I am, I may think “how I have changed!”, I am convinced that it is the same “Me”. Law of Attraction – Law of Resonance 2

The Reiki is based on the resonance. Indeed the resonance allows a Reiki practitioner to put the patient in a state of mind such that he/she, feels a well-being, at least during a few instants. The practitioner puts herself, thanks to meditation, in the state of mind adequate to be here and now. And the Reiki light touch applied over the patient’s body brings him/her, by resonance, towards a glimpse on this here and now. Continue reading “Law of Attraction – Law of Resonance 2”

Law of Attraction – Law of Resonance 1

[E] Birds of a feather flock together. Following this old proverb, people with common inclinations and habits tend to meet. The Law of Attraction goes further as it tells that a thought attracts and even generates the events likely to embody it.

An important aspect is that even if we repel a thought it still attracts these events. Indeed the example: “Do not think of a pink elephant!” proves there is no “negative” thought, as what are you thinking of, right now? A pink elephant!  Continue reading “Law of Attraction – Law of Resonance 1”

[E] The knowledge has become more and more specialized. The time of the ancient Encyclopedists and “erudites” like Pico della Mirandola is far away. Nobody is able anymore to embrace a large part of the current knowledge.

Correlatively Internet and the hypertext, and the web open to more and more people give access to more and more knowledge.

Is it not paradoxical? The knowledge has taken the form of tiny grains and more people have access to it.

At the same time as anybody may publish hoaxes and any so called scientific truths, the knowledge is more and more unreliable.

Now the hypertext. Thanks to the web we may navigate from a page to another one with a simple click. The access is faster than by reading a book.

And the knowledge accessed this way is assimilated more rapidly, somewhat more superficially than before, when we had just books to read. But this question deserves a debate in itself, too long maybe…

A new era

[E] Thanks to the Networks the Humanity has entered a new era. No angelism! Unfortunately New is not equal to Better. Only one certainty, it will be different. With new problems and new solutions.

In all cases Humanism, that is, a set of theories and pragmatic activities aimed at promoting Human progress and well-being, needs to be revisited. Why?

New technologies, new behaviors, new threats, new opportunities. All this related to, or impacting the human well-being.
A simple, yet striking, example is the usage of Internet as a tool for free speech, allowing for revolutions (see the Arab revolutions). This proves that the Networks are to be taken into account in the today’s Humanism.

Pourquoi ?

Nouvelles technologies, nouveaux comportements, nouvelles menaces, nouvelles opportunités.
